Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Totologic is built for young children, which means privacy isn't an afterthought — it's a design constraint. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information Totologic collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices available to parents and guardians.
1Who we are
Totologic ("Totologic", "we", "us", or "our") provides a learning app designed for young children, roughly ages 3–8, to use under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Totologic mobile application and the account systems that support it. It covers:
- The parent or guardian who creates and controls a Totologic account; and
- The child profile or profiles created by that parent or guardian within the account.
2Children's privacy comes first
Totologic is designed with children's privacy in mind. Our account model is built around parental involvement:
- Parents or guardians create accounts. Children do not create Totologic accounts or provide an email address or password directly to us.
- Child profiles are created by the parent or guardian. Parents choose what information to enter into a child's profile.
- We avoid unnecessary personal information. Child profiles do not require a child's date of birth, photograph, physical address, or contact information.
- There are no open chat or social features. Children are not provided with a public-facing area where they can communicate with other users or publish personal information.
- We do not display advertising to children. We do not use children's activity to create advertising profiles.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to Totologic that they should not have provided, please contact us using the details below.
3Information we collect
Information provided by a parent or guardian
When you create a Totologic account, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your password
Passwords are stored using secure password hashing. We do not store your password in plain text.
Your email address may be used to authenticate your account, help you recover access, and send important account-related communications such as password-reset messages.
We may also email you when your child reaches a milestone or makes real progress in the app, with an idea for what to try next - a few emails a week at most. To decide when something is worth telling you, we keep a record of those moments (for example, "mastered patterns") and of the emails we send, including whether they were delivered or opened and whether you clicked them. These records are deleted after 180 days. Every one of these emails has a link to unsubscribe, and we only mention Totologic Premium in them if you have chosen to hear about it.
When you create your account, in the app or on our website, we also note the approximate area you signed up from: your country, region or state, and city, worked out from your internet connection's IP address at that moment. We use this only to understand where families find Totologic, for example which countries an advert reaches. We don't store the IP address itself, we never use your device's GPS or precise location, and we never collect anything about where a child is.
Information about a child
A parent or guardian may create a child profile containing information such as:
- Child's first name or nickname
- Age
- Development goals
- Interests
- Challenge or difficulty level
The parent or guardian chooses what optional information to provide. We do not require a child's date of birth or photograph to use Totologic.
Activity and learning progress
When a child uses Totologic, we may record information about their use of learning activities so that we can provide core app functionality and maintain learning progress. This may include:
- Activities and puzzles completed
- Reading or spelling practice results
- Sounds or words practiced
- Accuracy or performance within activities
- Painting activities completed
- Progress through learning content
- Difficulty or challenge levels used
This information is associated with the relevant child profile and is not publicly displayed.
Signing up on our website
A parent or guardian can also create their Totologic account on our website (the "smarter screen time" page) by answering our setup questions there instead of in the app. We then collect the same account and child information described above - their name, email address and password, and their child's first name or nickname, age and setup answers (such as learning goals, strengths, how the child likes to play and what they enjoy) - together with their confirmation that they are the child's parent or guardian.
We also note which advert or campaign brought them to the page, if any (for example "facebook"), so we can tell which adverts work, and we email them a welcome message with the link to download the app.
If you reached the page from Facebook or Instagram (for example, by tapping one of our adverts), our server lets Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, know that you signed up. This shows us which adverts work and helps Meta show them to other parents who may find Totologic useful. We send only what Meta needs to connect the sign-up to the advert: your email address in scrambled form (a "hash", which lets Meta recognise it if it belongs to a Facebook or Instagram account, without us sending the address itself), your device's IP address and browser type, and the reference code Facebook or Instagram added to the link. We send this when your account is created and, if you later start a free trial or subscribe in the app, once more at that point, together with the plan's price - so we can see which adverts bring parents who find Totologic worth paying for. Only your scrambled email address and the link's reference code go with that later notice. We never send anything about your child. We don't put Meta's tracking code or advertising cookies on our website, and if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don't send this at all. Meta handles this information under its own Privacy Policy.
Information stored on the device
Some information may also be stored locally on the device, such as which activities have been completed, which pictures have been painted, or which child profile is currently active. Local information remains on the device unless removed by the user or the app.
4What we don't collect
Totologic is designed to keep data collection limited to what is needed to operate the service. Based on the current version of the app, Totologic does not access or collect:
- Camera data
- Microphone recordings
- Photos or other media from your device's photo library
- Contacts
- Precise (GPS) location data, or any location information about a child
- Voice recordings
Voice instructions generated by Totologic using the device's text-to-speech functionality are not recorded, uploaded, or analyzed by Totologic.
The Totologic app does not use third-party advertising networks or third-party analytics SDKs, and our website doesn't load any advertising or analytics code. The only information we share for advertising is the sign-up notice to Meta, and the later free-trial or subscription notice, described under "Signing up on our website" above. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.
On the sign-up questionnaire on our website, we count anonymously which steps of the questionnaire are reached and whether creating the account worked, so we can see where questions are confusing and improve them. This uses a random number made for that visit and kept only in your browser for that session, together with the advertising campaign that brought you there, if any. It does not include your name, email address or anything else that identifies you or your child, and we delete these counts after 180 days.
5How we use information
We use collected information to operate and improve Totologic, including to:
- Create and secure accounts
- Authenticate users and provide account recovery
- Create and manage child profiles
- Personalize learning activities
- Adjust activity difficulty
- Save and synchronize learning progress
- Provide core app functionality
- Respond to support requests
- Send essential account communications
- Email you about your child's milestones and progress in the app, unless you unsubscribe
- See which of our adverts bring parents to Totologic, and improve them
- Maintain the security, reliability, and functionality of our services
We do not sell personal information. We do not use a child's information to create an advertising profile or serve targeted advertising to children.
6Purchases and subscriptions
If Totologic offers optional in-app purchases or subscriptions, payments are processed through the applicable app store's billing system, such as Google Play Billing or Apple's App Store payment system.
Totologic does not receive or store your full payment card number. The applicable app store may provide us with information necessary to confirm and manage your purchase or subscription, such as purchase status, transaction identifiers, or subscription status.
The app store's own privacy policy and terms also apply to information it collects when processing your purchase.
8Data retention and deletion
We retain account and learning-progress information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service and maintain the user's account.
You can ask us to delete your account in the app (profile → Delete account), on our account deletion page, or by emailing us from the address on your account. We will email you to confirm we've received the request, delete the account, associated child profiles, associated learning-progress information and the record of how you signed up within one month, and email you again once it's done - subject to any information we are legally required or permitted to retain. We keep a record that the request was made and completed.
Some limited information may need to be retained for purposes such as legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our agreements. When information is no longer required for these purposes, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
9Parental rights and controls
Parents and guardians who create Totologic accounts can request to:
- Review information associated with their account and child profiles
- Correct or update profile information
- Delete a child profile and associated progress information
- Request deletion of their account and associated child profiles
- Request information about the personal information we hold about them and their children
To make a request, contact us using the email address below. For privacy and security, we may need to verify that you are the account holder or otherwise authorized to make the request before providing information or making changes.
10Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect the information we hold. These measures may include:
- Encrypted connections between the app and our servers
- Secure password hashing
- Account-scoped authentication and access controls
- Reasonable measures to restrict unauthorized access to stored information
No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We nevertheless take the security of children's and families' information seriously and work to protect it appropriately.
11International users
Totologic may be used by families in different countries. If you use Totologic from a country different from the country in which our service providers or servers are located, your information may be processed or stored in another country.
Where applicable, we take reasonable steps to handle personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection requirements.
12Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Totologic develops, our practices change, or legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the app or by email.
We encourage parents and guardians to review this page periodically.
